Scholarship Program
A limited number of scholarships are provided through Bucket Busters fund raising, sale of "Buckets of Fire" CD, and donations from individuals and businesses.
Scholarships are available to kids under the age of 18 who have the desire to play and instrument but otherwise would not have the opportunity to take music lessons.
Commonly Asked Questions:
Q: Who can qualify for a scholarship?
Any kid under 18 years of age who has the desire to learn a musical instrument. All that is needed is a reputable referral from a teacher, principle, social service agency, foster care organization, etc. Occasionally we may offer a scholarship to an existing student who otherwise would have to quit lessons because of a temporary financial circumstance.
Q: Are Scholarships for classes (like Bucketeers) or only private lessons?
Both. All you need is a referral.
Q: How long can a scholarship last?
A private lesson scholarship student is reviewed every 6 months based on the student’s commitment to practice and show achievement. A class scholarship will last as long as the session (usually 8-10 weeks) and may be repeated into the next session by request.
Q: Is there any cost to the student?
Yes, the student (or agency) pays $20 per month for private lessons or $20 per session for classes.
Q: How can someone donate to the scholarship fund?
1) You can make a one time donation for any amount.
2) Sponsor a child by paying the monthly tuition for a specific or random student.
3) Donate a used musical instrument to be sold at Music Motive. 100% goes toward music scholarships!
At Music Motive 100% of the sale of most used instruments and 10% of the purchase price on new items go toward music scholarships.
